Description
Bananas is a remarkable puzzle with incredible machinating work flawlessly executed in service of a higher purpose to tell a story and riddle to the curious solver.
Many times while working on this puzzle, I thought to myself that the money is meant to be a metaphor for myself. We are both brimming with curiosity about the world that we can see in front of us, but are kept away from what we are seeking by bars. Literal for the toy monkey, and metaphorical bars around the answers I sought to discover.
I admit that I felt like I needed to prove that I am smart enough to qualify as a human being to solve this puzzle and if I failed, it was proof that I was a dumb monkey all along! Eeek! Ooo! Aaah!
It's in excellent shape, lightly played with, and it's the very last copy that Jon Keegan ever made due to being #225 in the entire series if anyone cares about significant numbers like that. But I feel confident that every copy from the first to the last one were all equally well-made.
I would be lacking as a seller if I didn't take the time to point out potential flaws in this copy.
There is a scratch that doesn't appear to be easily eliminated which I show in the eighth picture. But I admit that I don't own metal polish or have any knowledge of how to clean metal which might do the trick.
A more serious issue, is the wooden laser-cut box that the puzzle arrives in as if it's a crate holding a wild monkey. It's thin and fragile, and I show in the ninth and tenth pictures where the wood is partially breaking or small pieces have already broken off.
Also in the second picture, the solution envelope was roughly opened, but the solution booklet is in good shape. No need to worry about it being ripped up or unreadable.
