Description
I decided to finally make ‘Abbie’s Waffle’ and also included ‘Joined Pairs’ as well.
The small box from Joined Pairs just so happens to work for the Abbie’s Waffle puzzle pieces.
These puzzles are a lot of fun to play with and have been lacquered and triple buffed for a smooth finish.
I’m including an instruction sheet, noting all of the woods used for each puzzle.
This copy is the first one available of the 8 copies made.
Woods used are:
Spalted Maple - Tigerwood - Padauk - Zebrawood - Mahogany - Red Zebrawood - Wenge - Walnut - Maple - Bubinga - Oak - Benge
Note: First photo shows the puzzle listed with the other seven that are available.
Stewart wrote about ‘Abbie’s Waffle’:
“The six pieces of Abbie’s Waffle, each made of four cubic blocks, assemble various ways onto a square tray or into a 2x3x4 box, as indicated on the instruction sheet.
It was created by our daughter Abbie and demonstrated by her on the PBS children’s program”
Stewart wrote about ‘Joined Pairs’: Design #18-A
“The six pieces are made of two 1x1x2 blocks joined together all possible ways. They pack into a 2x3x4 box various ways. One solution has a sort of symmetry. An obvious idea, probably discovered independently by others. One made in 1990.”
Shipping cost to be determined at close of auction.
