The Balance Scale Karakuri Japanese Puzzle Box crafted by Tatsuo Miyamoto was offered in a lottery to Karakuri members in February 2022 and sold out immediately after release.

The crafter describes his work in the following manner, "This work was designed for an exhibition with the theme, “Karakuri Experiments”. It was challenging to create it. Last year, I bought a set of balance scales at an antique store. It fit the theme of experimentation, so I took a chance and made it into a Karakuri work piece. It was a challenge to create a retro atmosphere."

Measures 145 x 100 x 68 mm and a storage space of 88 x 47 x 15 mm. 

Woods used are Cherry, Walnut and Agathis woods.
