Description
Cryptic Crosses was the exchange puzzle of James Kerley at PP21 in Tokyo, 2001.
The goal of this puzzle is to put the 8 pieces together to make 4 crosses and line them up in specific ways.
There are 2 different and distinct ways to solve the puzzle:
1) When the crosses are made all the numbers must face each other.
2) When the crosses are made no numbers face each other.
When the four crosses are made, they are lined up together and rotated, having 4 different symbols on each of the eight rows. There are 105 problems when the numbers are together and a further 105 are apart. Some of the permutations have zero solutions, some have 1 solutions. the objective is to find all solutions.
Each of the 8 pieces measures 65 x 30 mm, the storage tray measures 164 x 164 mm.
