Dark Matter Burr sounds ominous with it's name and looks, but it's quite gentle in my eyes.
I solved it fairly quick when I first got it, but it's really fun to take apart and reassemble with how there are only 18 moves to take out the first piece. It looks like it should be a nightmare with its unusual pieces' shapes, but once the solver gets going, it's only a modest challenge to beat. I wouldn't say this is an easy puzzle or beginner-friendly, but it's not hard either. I rate this at medium difficulty and it's well-named after the dark color and how the pieces expand in almost a spiral pattern. Black Hole would be a good name, but I'm confident that another burr already has used that exact name.
The pieces are quite handsome with how dark the wood is. I thought it was wenge at first, but it's actually Kwila, and not a normal variant of it. The wood has actually been thermally treated to have a much darker color than normal which was interesting to know about. The burr is also a nice weight. Not too light or heavy.
