Description
This auction is for the 2020 edition of the DDD Burr Set, designed by Darryl Adams, machined in brass by Bryan Turner (of graveraven.com), with leapardwood box by Eric Fuller. Condition of pieces and box is excellent.
description from the Cubicdissection website:
This collaboration is one I've been looking forward to for a while. Darryl designed this excellent 12 piece set, with pieces precision machined in either brass or aluminum by Bryan and contained inside a precision-crafted box by Fuller. Darryl describes the burr set below:
"In the 1970s, Bill Cutler published a complete summary of the solid 6-piece burrs that could be formed from "notchable" pieces. He presented a set of 42 pieces that would make all 314 solid, notchable puzzles. I wanted a smaller set. One that was easy to make (notchable) and also allows enough interesting puzzles to guide a user through puzzles of increasing difficulty. I call this set "DDD" for "Darryl's Dense Dozen" (or to my kids, "Dad's Dense Dozen). The set is "dense" in that it makes a lot of puzzles:
There are 24 solid puzzles,
There are 530 total puzzles (the additional 506 have empty hidden holes),
There are 42 puzzles with only one solution."
materials: brass burr pieces in a leopardwood box.

My wife, Erin, died on 13 September.
Previously I was selling some of my collection to help pay her medical bills, because we had run out of money.
I am continuing the auctions now to cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the cost of living on my own.
Please do not contact me with questions about other puzzles. I'm sorry, but I will not sell via PM. I need to do this in a simple, straightforward, and orderly fashion.
More details are here if you want.

I've been collecting puzzles for about 45 years. The collection is currently archived in plastic bins, out of sunlight, away from pets, in a humidity-stable room and in a non-smoking household.
Every item will be examined prior to listing, photographed from all sides (with a U.S. quarter for scale), and any flaws or damage will be noted. Additional photos will be uploaded on request, or emailed if the photo limit has been reached.
I will use USPS Priority Mail, insured for the full amount of the puzzle.
Buyer pays shipping, to be calculated after the sale. Please don't send payment until the total is updated with the shipping cost.
Payment is via PayPal only.
Thank you for looking, and good luck if you bid.
