Description

This design was used by Saul Bobroff as his IPP 37 Exchange puzzle gift in Paris.

Stewart designed this cool puzzle in 2015 and used three different lidded box variants, and I thought I’d craft my version using a dovetail lid similar to Saul’s version.

Here’s Stewart’s description:

“The name Doubleplay comes from the two tasks – finding the one solution to the 3x3x3 cubic assembly, and then figuring out how to get the darn thing into the box, both difficult.”

I used more of my ‘Piano’ wood for this copy along with Padauk for the Lid and Slipfeathers.

Entire puzzle has been ‘Triple Buffed’ to a nice sheen.

Tube It In - William Strijbos by John Devost
