A Unique Celebration of "JAPAN"
Crafted around the enchanting theme of "JAPAN", the Drawer of “Genjiko-no-Zu” Yugiri mirrors the rich nuances of the ancient Japanese game “Genjiko”. This game, steeped in tradition, invites participants to guess the scent, based on a captivating collection of 52 designs in “Genjiko-no-Zu”.
A Masterpiece of Choice
From this vast collection, Hiroshi Iwahara had the intricate task of choosing amongst the three designs that best suited the mechanism of this box. While the initial vision was to incorporate all three, time constraints led to the selection of a singular design. This limitation birthed a creation that's both cohesive and delightfully engaging.
A Symphony in Yosegi
The box's charm is further amplified by the traditional art of Yosegi, meticulously brought to life by Eiji Shinoda. This technique, when coupled with the use of diverse woods such as walnut, magnolia, keyaki, and rosewood, makes the puzzle box a visual spectacle.
