EWE EFO - Prototype by Kel Snake

This might be an early Christmas present for someone, if you are into prototypes, this might be for you.  I will say up front that this is a non-functioning, non assembled piece.

This is what might be closest to what the EWE EFO started out as, the concepts, and where I was going with it.  Now the final version that is out in the world has virtually no mechanical similarity to how this one was made other then the dial positions and the activator switches behind the doors idea.   I was starting to get a feel for how the corner posts were going to need to be too.  A lot was learned from this process, enough that I was able to build the final EWE EFO run without a second proto.

When building it quickly became very full inside and further contemplation at how I would accomplish this was needed.  Often times, ok, every time its best to keep as much as you can from being permanently glued together until necessary as you inevitably find out down the road you needed another hole here, or there, etc.

A puzzle collector long ago gave me some of his laser cut offcuts and was fun working them into this odd Borg looking randomness.  If the winning bidder can tell me who that might be just by looking at the little parts, well, there will be a bonus in the shipment for you.
