Description
Akio Kamei is the founder of the Karakuri Creation Group and is famous for puzzle boxes that merge impeccable craftsmanship, beautiful presentation, and clever themes and solutions.  Among his many boxes is a series that expand in various ways as you solve them.  This might be his most intricate, an expansion box with a “n-ary” solution mechanism that requires 35 steps to open.  This is a relatively large puzzle with a striking circular cutout on each face, resulting in a box that looks quite impressive on display.  All original packing material is included.

Karakuri product description:

The design of the surface is the same as Expansion 3. The binary system was added on the Expansion mechanism. 35 ways are needed to open the box inside.

Size: 104×104×104 mm
Material:
walnut
Condition: Some very slight scratches on some sides of the puzzle - some visible in the second photo. Otherwise perfect.

Star Cluster Puzzle (2018) - Allen Rolfs
As his exchange puzzle at the 2018 International Puzzle Party acclaimed puzzle craftsman Allen Rolfs created a magnificent burr set.  Whereas others had produced traditional burr sets based on rectangular pieces, Allen set for himself the challenge of crafting a set of 22 leopardwood “star” burr pieces – pieces that require angular rather than straight cuts and assemble to form what mathematicians call the first stellation of the rhombic dodecahedron.  The pieces come in a specially made...
