Description

I’m reluctantly offering up my copy of this awesome puzzle by Master Metalsmith Phil.

This particular copy is #36 of an edition of 72.

I made a Hexagonal Box especially for this puzzle but it will also come with Phil’s original cardboard box & velvet pouch so this box could always be used to store your keepsakes.

Here’s Phil’s description:

“The aim is to  uncover the inner core from the outer core. To pre-empt the question; no – it is not a Revomaze so to speak. Currently there is no limit of the batch size that I will be making; in the sense that it is not a limited edition.

For me personally, the puzzle is very much about the machining side in the sense that I really wanted to push myself and achieve very tight tolerances of which nowadays people would run straight to a CNC machine instead of using any sort of manual lathe. Only once the puzzle is solved that the machining can be appreciated.”

Shipping cost will need to be determined at close of auction.

Tube It In - William Strijbos by John Devost
It seems hard to believe that it's been almost 20 years since I first made a small run of this clever packing puzzle design in 2006.  William has graciously allowed me to offer up another run as there were only a dozen copies made in 2006.The original metal version was William’s exchange puzzle at the IPP21 in Tokyo. This version is made using many wood varieties and includes a Stand.  The entire puzzle has been ‘triple buffed’ giving it a very nice sheen.Overall size is a little over 4...

Sphinks Cargo Car - Brian Young by Henry Strout
This cool packing puzzle was designed by Brian and is a continuation of Henry’s ‘Train themed’ puzzles.  It was Henry’s gift at the IPP34 Exchange at London, England. There are 6 pieces that need to be packed into the box car, that has one lone block permanently attached.Entire puzzle and pieces were triple buffed to a nice lustre. Please note:I modified the train box portion so it is now glued to the train car (with Olivewood edging) and features a removable lid (inset made from Padauk)...
