Description

Yoh Kakuda is especially well-known for puzzle boxes that feature whimsical animal creations.  Gentleman Crocodile is one of Kakuda’s best, perfectly coupling theme and puzzle.  Thematically the puzzle presents us with its incongruous and humorous namesake: a crocodile wearing a hat.  Further, its solution is not only connected to its theme, but gives the solver an unexpected wonderful visual surprise along the way.  All original packing material is included.

Karakuri product description:

The crocodile is a gentleman. His favorite word is "coexistence".
This is a remake of KY-31.
He grew up and got bigger!

Size: 55×185×47mm

Material: Magnolia, Walnut, Chanchin, Keyaki (Zelkova)

Condition: The last step is slightly tight but easily doable. Otherwise perfect.

Each year, the International Puzzle Party (IPP) is held somewhere around the world. One of its revered traditions is the day-long Edward Hordern Puzzle Exchange, in which participants bring copies of a previously unproduced puzzle to exchange with all the other participants.  To participate, a puzzle must first be submitted for design review and evaluated for quality and originality. If approved, the exchanger must produce enough copies for all the other exchangers. On the day of the exchange, ...

Moon (2020) - Hideaki Kawashima (Karakuri)
Beautiful Karakuri with clever solution by Kawashima.  Hmm, why is one face a different color than the others...?Karakuri product description:This work was designed as a Christmas present for 2020.The theme is the phases of the moon. It's relatively easy for me to create a complicated Karakuri box by increasing the number of moves, but it's not so easy to create a convincing box with fewer moves.Compared to my Christmas presents of the past, the theme and the trick are clearer, although it may b...
