Description

I’m offering up my personal copy of Alexander’s awesome puzzle design.

I was originally given permission to make a small run of this design, I only made a half dozen with this one being the last one I have available.

It comes with a 6x6 tray configuration made from Black Limba with a Red Zebrawood bottom.  Slipfeathers are Leopardwood.  Pieces are a mix of Canarywood, Cherry and Makore.

Here’s Alexander’s description:

“First of my ‘Darwin puzzles’ starting with one cube, the next piece is the previous one with one cube added.”

Main challenge:

6x6 square - 1 solution

9x4 rectangle - 4 solutions

Other possible challenges in blue with number of solutions, (see last photo):

Left to right: 12, 11, 6, 4, 3, 2

Tube It In - William Strijbos by John Devost
It seems hard to believe that it's been almost 20 years since I first made a small run of this clever packing puzzle design in 2006.  William has graciously allowed me to offer up another run as there were only a dozen copies made in 2006.The original metal version was William’s exchange puzzle at the IPP21 in Tokyo. This version is made using many wood varieties and includes a Stand.  The entire puzzle has been ‘triple buffed’ giving it a very nice sheen.Overall size is a little over 4...

This classic design was one of my earliest puzzle builds in the early 2000’s that I made for Bill Cutler. It features 18 pieces with four solutions, however finding one will definitely keep you busy for some time!I’ve always wanted to revisit it but in a much smaller scale.  This size is small enough to fit in a pocket so definitely not as tiny as Allan Boardman’s version! As always everything is given my ‘Triple Buffing’ process making for smooth buttery finish.Crafted from Canarywood...

Sphinks Cargo Car - Brian Young by Henry Strout
This cool packing puzzle was designed by Brian and is a continuation of Henry’s ‘Train themed’ puzzles.  It was Henry’s gift at the IPP34 Exchange at London, England. There are 6 pieces that need to be packed into the box car, that has one lone block permanently attached.Entire puzzle and pieces were triple buffed to a nice lustre. Please note:I modified the train box portion so it is now glued to the train car (with Olivewood edging) and features a removable lid (inset made from Padauk)...
