Houdini’s Torture Cell
This is one of the originals made by Brian himself. The puzzle was made in 2011 for the IPP31 Puzzle Exchange held in Berlin in August 2011. This puzzle was also the winner of one of two Jury First Prizes in the Puzzle Design Competition 2012. There were 282 made in total.
Please bid generously with the goal of this charity auction to donate proceeds to United Help Ukraine and the Ukraine Red Cross firmly front of mind. Millions of people have been affected by the war in Ukraine and these organisations need our donations so they can do everything they can to assist.
The puzzle has been checked by Brian and is "as new". The puzzle will be sent to the winning bidder from Australia for free.
About the puzzle:
The idea for Houdini’s Torture Cell came from one of the locks in The Opening Bat puzzle (part of the Sold Out Limited Edition 2010 series). Brian felt the idea was unique and very satisfying to solve so he revisited the idea and changed it to present in a way that would suit IPP; this way it’s available for lots more people to experience a great ‘Ah Ha’ moment.
The puzzle has been presented in such a way that most elements of the puzzle are visible to you. The puzzle is to then work out how to use them to solve it. You can literally sit and think about the solution without even touching the puzzle.
