The Inelegant series of puzzles is a fairly unusual assembly or packing puzzle. The goal is to simply assemble the pieces into a cube. But each puzzle in the series delights in messing with the underlying design of the pieces. They started with the Inelegant Soma where the pieces were based on the Soma Cube design, but the voxels were stretched from being cubes into rectangular voxels that got glued into the Soma pieces we know and love. However this "distortion" results in forming a cube that appears to have gaps or voids between the pieces. This deceptively adds to the challenge of putting the pieces together, because unlike with most apparent cube puzzles, solvers can't simply put the pieces together until there is no gaps between individual parts as if assembling a 3d jigsaw. And Haym went on to design multiple variants on that original design spawning the Inelegant series.
Inelegant Snake comes with its own twist on the base Inelegant Soma by removing a voxel from two opposite corners and a hollow center. So that adds to the difficulty when the solver isn't making a solid cube once fully assembled.
I was feeling too lazy to separate the individual pieces for pictures since the reassembly wouldn't be as trivial. If anyone wants further pictures of the individual pieces before bidding, let me know under "Questions & Answers" and I'll send pictures. The woods should be sucupira, red zebrawood, marblewood and mango.
If anyone is worried about the pictures showing spoilers on how to solve this puzzle, I can promise that it's not all that helpful without intensely studying the pictures. A casual glance to review the quality or condition of this puzzle won't be helpful in cheating the solve.
I will provide a solution Burr-Tools file for this puzzle if that is desired.
The puzzle will come with one wooden cube display stand.
