This puzzle functions perfectly but does have a minor scuff on one side (see picture). Here is the description from the Karakuri website:

It was created as a Christmas Present for 2007. This is one of the Secret Boxes. At first, you need to move a device to open the box.. But you can’t see the mechanism from the outside. Maybe you can find the place of the device with the attached small wood plate.
