Katalox Box

Classic puzzle box made from katalox. Katalox is an extremely dense and heavy hardwood normally with purple and brown hues. It's difficult to find stock with heartwood and sapwood and very difficult to work with. This piece has a small amount of spalting which makes it even more rare and visually unique. I've only been able to find it in one location and I bought nearly all of it. You know the saying "Buy it when you see it." So I did and it's gone. I'm having a hard time letting this copy go but maybe I'll find the same katalox in the future and I can make myself another. I'd rather someone in the community own it. This is not a challenging puzzle and is intended for those just beginning their puzzling journey or an avid collector who is after rare items. It measures 5in by 4in by 3.5in.
