Description

In addition to crafting original puzzle boxes, Kel Snake is especially well-known for his distinctive, highly creative series of "retrofit" puzzle boxes made from vintage wood boxes. Keyed Up is distinctive in being a doubly retrofit puzzle box. First, the box is made from an old cigar box. Second, Kel took a classic Oskar van Deventer keymaze puzzle (one of the big, old ones, in metal) and figured out how to turn it into a locking mechanism for this puzzle box. According to Kel this is the only copy he ever made of this puzzle box.

Size: 112 x 100 x 147 (175 with key) mm

Condition: See photos (it's made from a used cigar box, but despite its intentionally vintage exterior the puzzle is in perfect working order)

Pyrigan 808 - John Partridge
Precision-engineered metal puzzles have become a cornerstone of many serious collections. One of its early pioneers is John Partridge of Pyrigan & Company Puzzles, whose exacting design and production standards have yielded just three now-classic creations: #357, #360, and his first - and now very hard-to-find - #808.  The #808 is machined from T6061 aluminum with a tolerance of +/- 0.002 inches.  It features two apparent dovetail joints, concealing an internal mechanism that must be discovere...

A rare mechanical masterpiece by legendary puzzle craftsman Robert Yarger, the Chopstick Box (Stickman No. 13) is a beautifully designed puzzle that seamlessly blends elegant woodworking with ingenious engineering. The goal is the release of the two wooden chopsticks—cleverly integrated into the box’s design. This puzzle showcases Yarger’s signature ability to merge traditional Japanese aesthetics with intricate mechanical movement. As with all Stickman creations, every ...

Dwemer Construct - Stickman #34 (Robert Yarger)
This may be the most creative and complex creation from one of the world’s foremost puzzle designers and craftsmen, Robert Yarger (“Stickman”).  Only 60 of this massive puzzle were made – this is #40.  Rather than try to generate the words to describe this singular creation, I’ll instead rely on excerpts from the review by Boxes and Booze that captures the puzzle so well: “The Dwemer Construct, aka The Stickman No. 34 Puzzlebox, is an impressive artifact indeed. It appears to be...
