Description
Frederic Boucher has a long history of coming up with wild puzzles, but he doesn't like to craft more than a handful of copies before moving on to the next design. Which is why I'm so appreciative of Pelikan for stepping in to make more copies of LOL for everyone to try!

LOL is a packing puzzle where the solver needs to fit all of the pieces into a 4x5 space with only a 1x2 opening to fit the pieces inside. It's obvious that rotations will be required since there are pieces that wouldn't otherwise fit into the box. But it's still hiding a devious trick that would otherwise make this an impossible puzzle to solve. I lol'd when I finally figured out how to solve this puzzle. There's also a second challenge to this puzzle, although Boucher considers it the main challenge of this puzzle. I laughed at the cheekiness of this other problem, but I had more fun with the packing part of the puzzle.

"LOL is an assembly puzzle with a very simple goal: Assemble the five pieces to make the acronym LOL, respecting the following rule: the 3 characters must have the same size (height and width). Will you discover the trick and succeed in the challenge? Exclusively for the PELIKAN version, a box is included. As a second challenge you must pack the pieces completely into the box. I hope this puzzle will make you laugh out loud!”

Knot-a-2x2 by Rex Perez
Knot-a-2x2 made for a wild flashback to my younger years playing with a Rubik's Cube. I'll be honest here, I struggled just as badly here as I did back then with the Rubik's Cube hahaha.I had fun with Rex's prior designs when he was mostly selling coin releases and burrs, so when I heard that he was designing an SD for seemingly the first time, I knew I had to get it. And hearing that it's based on the design of a Rubik's Cube, that just sealed the deal. The goal is to scramble up the cube so you...

Daedalus by Gregory Benedetti
Daedalus is one of these rare puzzles that you just know will be an instant classic hit. Described simply, it's a TIC with teeth! And yet that fails to accurately describe it since it's not similar to other Turning Interlocking Cube in the feel of solving this puzzle. When first given this puzzle, the goal is to take it apart and then to put it back together as a cube. But this is no simple task. There are internal grooves and pins traveling these grooves to form a strange maze that you can at ti...

Free Me 8 by Joseph Turner
Joe Turner is famous for his coin release puzzles which he first only made for family and friends, but then his works circulated in the puzzling community and he was encouraged to develop his creativity and make more designs for paying strangers. At this point, he's made 9 different coin release puzzles, and this one may be his best of the lot. It dramatically stands out by being a large puzzle box that solvers have to open with tools they find while poking at the box. It's much larger and more c...

Archipuzzle by Lucie Pauwels
Archipuzzle is actually a sequel of sorts to Stuffing Burr despite both puzzles being designed by different people.Just like Stuffing Burr, Archipuzzle is an unusual burr puzzle where the goal is to assemble it instead of taking the burr apart. Furthermore, it has a catch in that it has no obvious goal shape unlike most other burrs. Instead, solvers need to figure out how to assemble the pieces in a way that every notch is filled in with another piece.Lucie was inspired by Volker's Stuffing Burr...
