Description
Frederic Boucher has a long history of coming up with wild puzzles, but he doesn't like to craft more than a handful of copies before moving on to the next design. Which is why I'm so appreciative of Pelikan for stepping in to make more copies of LOL for everyone to try!

LOL is a packing puzzle where the solver needs to fit all of the pieces into a 4x5 space with only a 1x2 opening to fit the pieces inside. It's obvious that rotations will be required since there are pieces that wouldn't otherwise fit into the box. But it's still hiding a devious trick that would otherwise make this an impossible puzzle to solve. I lol'd when I finally figured out how to solve this puzzle. There's also a second challenge to this puzzle, although Boucher considers it the main challenge of this puzzle. I laughed at the cheekiness of this other problem, but I had more fun with the packing part of the puzzle.

"LOL is an assembly puzzle with a very simple goal: Assemble the five pieces to make the acronym LOL, respecting the following rule: the 3 characters must have the same size (height and width). Will you discover the trick and succeed in the challenge? Exclusively for the PELIKAN version, a box is included. As a second challenge you must pack the pieces completely into the box. I hope this puzzle will make you laugh out loud!”

Tenchi by Frederic Boucher

Tenchi by Frederic Boucher
Tenchi is a fun little assembly puzzle that Cubic Dissection made from Fredric's design. It's an "anti-slide" puzzle where all of the pieces have to put into the square and positioned around the single cube notch in a way that none of the pieces can slide right back out of the square on either end. It sounds impossible, but I promise that it's very doable even if you have never tried this style of puzzling before. If it ends up being too confusing or demanding to fully solve, I have a solution Bu...

Matchbox Playground by Péter Gál
Does anyone remembers Oskar's Matchboxes? The solver had 5 matchboxes with a square shell and a box attached to it at different spots from piece to piece, and then they had to be put them together so all 5 boxes would fit inside another matchbox. It was a very interesting puzzle with 4 cavities to store small items inside and people had fun finding multiple ways to put the boxes together. It was fairly popular and not the only one of it's type! Matchbox Play Six by Olexandre Kapkan upped the cou...

Dark Matter Burr by Juno
Dark Matter Burr sounds ominous with it's name and looks, but it's quite gentle in my eyes.I solved it fairly quick when I first got it, but it's really fun to take apart and reassemble with how there are only 18 moves to take out the first piece. It looks like it should be a nightmare with its unusual pieces' shapes, but once the solver gets going, it's only a modest challenge to beat. I wouldn't say this is an easy puzzle or beginner-friendly, but it's not hard either. I rate this at medium di...
