Mail Box by Kyoko Hoshino (Karakuri Creation Group)

NOTE: I have solved and reset this puzzle several times recently.  The mechanism is sticky and does not fully operate as I would expect.  Perhaps some of the issues can be fixed with a bit of sanding?  Still, it's a beautiful piece of woodworking in otherwise good condition.
