Description

Dodeka is design No. 9629 in the Naef range. Designed in 1984 by Toshiaki Betsumiya and made and sold by Kurt Naef of Switzerland.

Goal: Assemble the eleven different puzzle pieces into the rhombic dodecahedron.  Ten  pieces are cleverly constructed from three joined slanted cubes (rhombohedrons) and one has just two.
Size:  The puzzle fits in an interior cardboard case that is 115mm x 95mm x 85mm.
Materials: I don’t know the species of wood but its very well made with a dark reddish brown wood.
Condition:  Puzzle is in good condition. The box is quite worn. Scuffed and ripped on a couple of edges but it still has all the original packing inside to hold the puzzle secure.  It also has the original black wooden stand to assemble the puzzle on but it is missing the original information and solution sheet.

The puzzle is unsolved inside the box. Brian spent too much time and got close but was taking too long and I had other puzzle for him to look at!

General Information:

This is Brian Young from Mr Puzzle in Australia selling some doubles as a result of merging Ray Mead’s collection into my own existing collection.

Polly-Hedral IPP26 puzzle made by Stewart Coffin
This 6 piece interlocking puzzle was designed and made by Stewart Coffin for Jerry Slocum to exchange at IPP26 in Boston 2006. The puzzle is labelled inside as design #206 see photo - and Stewart has written S.T.C.2006 in pencil on one of the pieces inside that I saw when I took it apart to check. But I forgot to take a photo and I don't wish to take it apart again! Its a handful; at least for me!Goal: Take the six pieces apart and put them back together again. Size:  75 x 75 x 75mmCondition:...

L Burr Juno design made by Josef Pelikan
This is an original puzzle made at Pelikan workshop when Josef was there making puzzles.  It has no packaging or solution sheet. One of Juno’s early burr designs and he still considers it one of his best.  Completely designed in his head back in 1991, it took about one full week to design this L burr. He was concentrating so much on the puzzle in that week he says he even dreamed about it. Goal: Take the six pieces apart and reassemble.  It’s only 4 moves to remove the first piece, but ...
