Description

Through an agreement with Jeff I’m able to offer this puzzle for sale.  Jeff has honed his puzzle making skills after working at CubicDissection so you’ll immediately notice a similar attention to detail that Eric is known for.

Drop by BAZ to see all that he has available.

As an added bonus I will include a 2-piece stand that I have crafted, to display your puzzle.

Here’s Jeff’s description:

“The One Step Closer (16.11.4.3.2.3) is a slight variation of the Stepper (18.2.3.2.2), being a bit more difficult. Both the Stepper and One Step Closer are interlocking puzzles designed by Alexander Magyarics in 2021. When solved, the pieces will fill the void spots on three of the faces of the cage. It'll take a little dexterity, but easy to handhold with the voxel size being 1/2" (3" cubed).

The OMG COLORS are all true unique variants of mixed exotic woods of whatever wood species we have on hand, from common exotics to the ultra rare's. Minimum of 15 wood species would be used. No two OMG COLORS puzzles will ever be the same.

The signature piece is laser engraved with "Baz".
The puzzle is finished with matte lacquer.”

Please wait until I send you actual postage cost options before submitting payment.

I don’t charge PayPal fees and shipping cost is the actual amount paid at my local post office.

Singmaster Packing - David Singmaster (1971) by John Devost
This design by Professor Singmaster (sadly passed away in 2023) was my very first puzzle offering at CubicDissection back in 2005, it’s 25 pieces that can be packed in the box 22 ways.I was going through my ‘Salvaged Piano Wood’ (see last photo of my keyboard wall hanging, that I made from our upright piano that was produced in the ‘roaring ‘20’s!), so I figured I’d make more of this classic puzzle with this antique lumber. As always everything gets my ‘triple buffing finish’ th...

Gouge Packing Puzzle - Gaétan Gouge by John Devost
I previously made a few of this surprisingly difficult packing puzzle by Gaétan and at the time I didn’t have any contact info for him but then a few years ago I was surprised by one of his puzzle purchases in ‘Paradise’.My plan was to make another run but life kinda’ took a turn so now I’ve managed to sort myself out and began making another run.Allard kindly blogged about the copies I made in 2014, here’s an excerpt:https://allardspuzzlingtimes.blogspot.com/2014/04/gouge-packing-p...

Doubleplay - Stewart Coffin Design #X-75 (2015) by John Devost
This design was used by Saul Bobroff as his IPP 37 Exchange puzzle gift in Paris.Stewart designed this cool puzzle in 2015 and used three different lidded box variants, and I thought I’d craft my version using a dovetail lid similar to Saul’s version. Here’s Stewart’s description:“The name Doubleplay comes from the two tasks – finding the one solution to the 3x3x3 cubic assembly, and then figuring out how to get the darn thing into the box, both difficult.”I used more of my ‘Piano...

Tube It In - William Strijbos by John Devost
It seems hard to believe that it's been almost 20 years since I first made a small run of this clever packing puzzle design in 2006.  William has graciously allowed me to offer up another run as there were only a dozen copies made in 2006.The original metal version was William’s exchange puzzle at the IPP21 in Tokyo. This version is made using many wood varieties and includes a Stand.  The entire puzzle has been ‘triple buffed’ giving it a very nice sheen.Overall size is a little over 4...
