This is an intricately crafted sequential discovery puzzle box. Machined with a mix of wood and metal, it features deliberately misleading external elements designed to test your puzzle-solving skills. Because "red herrings" are built right into the design, this box encourages a careful, exploratory approach. The success of the puzzle even inspired a subsequent, equally-brilliant puzzle from Menzies known as the Dead Herring Box.
