"Howdy Fellow Puzzlers,
When the guys at TartarusPuzzles LLC reached out to me with the idea of replicating Robert & Norman Sandfield's Salt & Pepper puzzle from 2002 I thought they were nuts. And when they told me it would be an all metal construction I knew they were nuts. First of all, my design documentation back then was pretty sketchy so not a lot to start with, but add to that the difficult tolerances and those razor sharp dovetail edges, they were asking for trouble. But they just waved off my concerns and they got to work on putting together a new set of CAD drawings.
They made several mechanical improvements to the original design along the way but his ideas for a custom made dovetail cutter created a unique Dovetail look that's easy on the eyes but especially easy on the fingers. The engineering is top shelf, the execution is exquisite and the action is buttery. A delight to hold in the hands. Just pass the Salt & Pepper to see if you can discover what's shakin' with these "Complimentary Condimentaries".
