  • Piece wood variety for the 3-colour version are Yellowheart, Bloodwood and Black Palm.

  • Box and Sleeve (removable) is Leopardwood with Black Limba Top & Bottom and Wenge Slipfeathers.
  • Tray is Padauk with Holly Slipfeathers and a Black Limba Sleeve (removable) and Bottom.

Please note that photos show the pieces in the ‘starting position’, I will ship/pack them in this configuration.

Here’s Stewart’s description:

“Five multi-colored solid polyominoes come assembled in a 4x6 tray, and

the problem is to rearrange them so that no two like colors are next to each other, and also with color symmetry. A second 4x6 arrangement exists and also a unique 3x8 arrangement, but neither satisfies the requirements of symmetry.

The solution is to pack them in the unique 2x3x4 solid arrangement. There are two different versions of this puzzle: three-color and four-color.”

Shipping to be determined at close of auction.

This classic design was one of my earliest puzzle builds in the early 2000’s that I made for Bill Cutler. It features 18 pieces with four solutions, however finding one will definitely keep you busy for some time!I’ve always wanted to revisit it but in a much smaller scale.  This size is small enough to fit in a pocket so definitely not as tiny as Allan Boardman’s version! As always everything is given my ‘Triple Buffing’ process making for smooth buttery finish.Crafted from Canarywood...

Tube It In - William Strijbos by John Devost
It seems hard to believe that it's been almost 20 years since I first made a small run of this clever packing puzzle design in 2006.  William has graciously allowed me to offer up another run as there were only a dozen copies made in 2006.The original metal version was William’s exchange puzzle at the IPP21 in Tokyo. This version is made using many wood varieties and includes a Stand.  The entire puzzle has been ‘triple buffed’ giving it a very nice sheen.Overall size is a little over 4...

Gouge Packing Puzzle - Gaétan Gouge by John Devost
I previously made a few of this surprisingly difficult packing puzzle by Gaétan and at the time I didn’t have any contact info for him but then a few years ago I was surprised by one of his puzzle purchases in ‘Paradise’.My plan was to make another run but life kinda’ took a turn so now I’ve managed to sort myself out and began making another run.Allard kindly blogged about the copies I made in 2014, here’s an excerpt:https://allardspuzzlingtimes.blogspot.com/2014/04/gouge-packing-p...
