Description
A cubic, symmetrical puzzle box, designed by Christophe Laronde [aka NeoKid] of NKD Puzzle. [ NKD's listing of this puzzle ]

Here is a review from Boxes and Booze.

~

9 moves to open, 8 of which are 2 steps repeated 4 times. Difficulty is estimated as 2/5, but I personally rate it as a 1/5. A fabulous and handsome beginner puzzle.

Made out of 144 poplar plywood pieces, glued together. The surface marquetry is made up of an additional 300+ pieces of red padauk and grey sycamore. The surface is finished with 2 coats of polyurethane varnish.

Dimensions:  10cm x 10cm x 10cm  // 3.9in x 3.9in x 3.9in

Internal space: 6cm x 6cm x 6cm // 2.4in x 2.4in x 2.4in  [full internal space can be used without worry of inhibiting puzzle function!]

I assembled this puzzle box kit and custom painted the stand in late 2019. It took around 3 weeks of work. There are some custom added colours on the inside, as well, but showing them would constitute a puzzle spoiler, sorry! I believe that the work of the assembly is worth what I'm asking, which also allows you to enjoy the puzzle element. Assembling it causes the assembler to learn the puzzle portion of the piece.

There are small imperfections, given it was my first major kit from NKD, but nothing glaring. The movements are satisfying, with nice snappy 'clicks' upon the completion of the move. At a distance, surfaces seem seamless.

I could not help but to 'solve' [or rather, open], my own work somewhere between 10 - 20 times. Still functions beautifully.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to message me here on PuzzleParadise, or on the Mechanical Puzzles Discord, where I am known as PuzzleParks.

[This is my first time selling here on PP, so if there's something obvious I've forgotten to mention, please ask.]
