Description

When I first stumbled into the puzzle world, this design by Stewart fascinated me and I ended up making many different tray versions, including some specifically for the awesome animal shapes.  One thing that I didn’t understand at the time was the wood fluctuations and sadly many of those trays had to be abandoned.  This particular copy is one that I had made for my wife Barb, that my boys played with when they were toddlers.

The pieces are Lacewood with a tray made from White Oak.

Here’s Stewart’s description:

“It started out being manufactured in plastic and ended up crafted in wood. The idea for the set of ten Snowflake puzzle pieces came from Martin Gardner’s column in Scientific American, June 1967. I added the tricky base, and with help from my children generated dozens of geometric or animated puzzle problems.”
