Description

Robert has created this masterpiece based of his ‘Snowflake PuzzleBox and in typical Stickman fashion has decided to bump things up both in complexity and materials by enlisting the expertise of Lewis to create copies in resin.  The key addition to this very cool design is the ‘Gem’ inside that creates a whole new solve experience that is quite cool!

This is the version featuring Granite with a with the Amber Gem.

Here’s Robert’s description:

“This 7-piece interlocking puzzle is not for the faint of heart.  It can be extremely challenging to solve, (8 out of 10 in difficulty), and requires a minimum of at least 23 steps to fully assemble.  Puzzle measures 2" (5 cm) cubed.  It and internal gems are constructed of cast resin.

For those fortunate enough to have a Stickman Snowflake, this puzzle is somewhat similar, in that it shares a few of its sequential steps.  The Snowflake, however, requires 6 steps to open from its fully assembled position, while the Golem Heart requires 14.”

I made a Custom Box from Black Limba with Makore Top, Bottom and Sleeve - Slipfeathers are Walnut.

This classic design was one of my earliest puzzle builds in the early 2000’s that I made for Bill Cutler. It features 18 pieces with four solutions, however finding one will definitely keep you busy for some time!I’ve always wanted to revisit it but in a smaller scale, I used a 3/16” unit size with the overall size being approximately 6” x 4”.The woods used were salvaged from an old upright piano from the 1920’s that I layed out the keys in a wall hanging (see last photo). Slipfeath...

Singmaster Packing - David Singmaster (1971) by John Devost
This design by Professor Singmaster (sadly passed away in 2023) was my very first puzzle offering at CubicDissection back in 2005, it’s 25 pieces that can be packed in the box 22 ways.I was going through my ‘Salvaged Piano Wood’ (see last photo of my keyboard wall hanging, that I made from our upright piano that was produced in the ‘roaring ‘20’s!), so I figured I’d make more of this classic puzzle with this antique lumber. As always everything gets my ‘triple buffing finish’ th...

This classic design was one of my earliest puzzle builds in the early 2000’s that I made for Bill Cutler. It features 18 pieces with four solutions, however finding one will definitely keep you busy for some time!I’ve always wanted to revisit it but in a much smaller scale.  This size is small enough to fit in a pocket so definitely not as tiny as Allan Boardman’s version! As always everything is given my ‘Triple Buffing’ process making for smooth buttery finish.Crafted from Canarywood...

Tube It In - William Strijbos by John Devost
It seems hard to believe that it's been almost 20 years since I first made a small run of this clever packing puzzle design in 2006.  William has graciously allowed me to offer up another run as there were only a dozen copies made in 2006.The original metal version was William’s exchange puzzle at the IPP21 in Tokyo. This version is made using many wood varieties and includes a Stand.  The entire puzzle has been ‘triple buffed’ giving it a very nice sheen.Overall size is a little over 4...
