The Stickman ‘Xombie Warrior' Puzzle Chest has been hand crafted by designer Robert Yarger from quality oak, wenge, chechen, and bloodwood. The chest implements a short (illustrated) storyline, around which its sequential steps advance. Its somewhat morbid, yet whimsical, fable consists of a witchdoctor, and a buried warrior who is revived from his grave to disclose the location of hidden gold.
The
puzzle solution requires the warrior to outwit the witchdoctor to keep the gold,
and this fable provides clues for sequential advancement. As the puzzle progresses, figurines of these
two characters are discovered and used to interact with the chest, playing out
elements of the fable storyline. Correctly
deduced steps wind the chest’s mechanism, and at times provide simple
automation functions between figurines.
Incorrect steps often revert the puzzle back to its starting position.
When fully solved, all drawers open in automated sequential order, leaving a
few additional steps to reveal its final compartment with its gold stash prize.
Video examples of some of this chest’s simple automation can be viewed at the link below, but might be considered spoilers by some.. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NmzjvBekjoZEfY6FlPlat9hO6gUBF-Mv/view?usp=sharing
The chest’s storyline fable, puzzle solution, and reset instructions will be housed in a puzzle-cage book that comes with the chest. (The number of pages is yet to be determined). Along with this puzzle-caged book, chests will require a minimum of 25 steps in order to access 3 drawers, with their additional compartments. The chests measure 12" x 12" x 6" and are limited in edition to 3 copies, (* plus one prototype version – which is currently being used an assembly template, and not listed for sale). This particular chest is (3 out of 3) in this limited edition.
The pictures of the assembled chest and automation video that are used in this listing are of the ‘working prototype’ version, which is representative of the individual chests being sold, but still in the process of being assembled from identical parts. The instruction books are also not quite ready for printing. (Expectations are that the chests being listed will be ready for shipping in about 3-5 weeks).
Winning bidders will be expected to place a minimum deposit of $1500 at the auction’s conclusion, with any remaining amounts due upon completion. Payments accepted through Paypal, Bank Transfer, and Zelle. Shipping costs are to be paid by the buyer.
Note for International Bidders:
International bidders should consider any potential customs duties, VAT/GST, import taxes, brokerage/handling fees, or other charges that may be imposed by their country. These costs can be substantial, vary by country, and may change without notice. Please investigate your country's current import fees and requirements before placing a bid. (The final auction amount would represent the declared values on customs forms.) International buyers should also be aware that shipping insurance, customs clearance, and delivery options vary by destination. The seller cannot be responsible for delays, additional charges, customs inspections, duties, taxes, or other requirements imposed by the destination country.
International bidders in countries having particularly complicated or restrictive import procedures are encouraged to make their own arrangements, if possible, for receiving their puzzle in the United States. For example, an attendee of IPP 2027 might arrange to have their puzzle shipped domestically to a trusted U.S. recipient, who was also planning to attend, and willing to transport it personally to the event for pickup there.
Countries requiring additional consideration:
France — significant VAT/customs and import-clearance
considerations;
United Kingdom — USPS insurance limitations and additional
import requirements;
Israel — additional recipient/customs information on items
valued above certain limits may be required;
Please bid with such considerations in mind.
