This is a very difficult level 10 puzzle. It requires logic and intuition to be able to ‘map’ what is going on inside to make progress toward the solve. It is a true mechanical puzzle that does not use any spin moves or magnets in its’ design. The puzzle provides all the ‘tools’ needed for the solve. It is a challenging puzzle.
About the puzzle: The Byrds were a popular American rock band formed in the 1960’s. Their hit single “Turn! Turn! Turn!” in 1965 was inspiration for this puzzle. Consequently, the goal of the puzzle is to “free the birds”.
The puzzle is an intricate assembly providing an aesthetically pleasing appearance and the durability and weight of the metals. It is manufactured using stainless steel, steel, aluminum, and brass. The outside is ceramic coated for long life. All parts are precision machined on both CNC and conventional machines. The puzzle itself is quite heavy at 6.0 pounds, (2.72 kilograms). The puzzle is designed and built to provide many years of use and should not require maintenance.
