Description

I’m reluctantly offering up this amazing 1 of 1 PuzzleBox from Kel to free up funds for other puzzles.

I don’t collect puzzle boxes so this is your chance to acquire one of Kel’s one of a kind creations, comes with full solution instructions with reset featuring accompanying photos.

This wonderful PuzzleBox is the second in a Limited Edition release from Kel using vintage wood yardsticks from days gone by.

In 2017 Kel first offered me the first in this series called ‘Pinch an inch’, of course I jumped at the chance to acquire this entire run of 10 puzzleboxes.

Please see my initial blog about his first release.

Here’s Kel’s description of this 2nd offering:

“Yard Schtick - Design #2/10.  Made from 2 vintage yard sticks.

There are 3 knobs and 3 buttons and only one way in.

An interesting concept I worked through was making it so that the two faces are removable, hmmm.

I think it's more of a challenge coming up with the puzzle's name, lol, and now only 8 more designs to go!”

Shipping cost to be determined at close of auction.

Sphinks Cargo Car - Brian Young by Henry Strout
This cool packing puzzle was designed by Brian and is a continuation of Henry’s ‘Train themed’ puzzles.  It was Henry’s gift at the IPP34 Exchange at London, England. There are 6 pieces that need to be packed into the box car, that has one lone block permanently attached.Entire puzzle and pieces were triple buffed to a nice lustre. Please note:I modified the train box portion so it is now glued to the train car (with Olivewood edging) and features a removable lid (inset made from Padauk)...

This classic design was one of my earliest puzzle builds in the early 2000’s that I made for Bill Cutler. It features 18 pieces with four solutions, however finding one will definitely keep you busy for some time!I’ve always wanted to revisit it but in a much smaller scale.  This size is small enough to fit in a pocket so definitely not as tiny as Allan Boardman’s version! As always everything is given my ‘Triple Buffing’ process making for smooth buttery finish.Crafted from Canarywood...

This classic design was one of my earliest puzzle builds in the early 2000’s that I made for Bill Cutler. It features 18 pieces with four solutions, however finding one will definitely keep you busy for some time!I’ve always wanted to revisit it but in a smaller scale, I used a 3/16” unit size with the overall size being approximately 6” x 4”.The woods used (see last photo) were salvaged from an old upright piano that I layed out the keys in a wall hanging.  Slipfeathers in the tray a...

Tube It In - William Strijbos by John Devost
It seems hard to believe that it's been almost 20 years since I first made a small run of this clever packing puzzle design in 2006.  William has graciously allowed me to offer up another run as there were only a dozen copies made in 2006.The original metal version was William’s exchange puzzle at the IPP21 in Tokyo. This version is made using many wood varieties and includes a Stand.  The entire puzzle has been ‘triple buffed’ giving it a very nice sheen.Overall size is a little over 4...
