Description

Climb Blo-24 (クライム・ブロ-24) by Minoru Abe

Colorful, vintage, craftsman level, Japanese sliding tray puzzle called "Climb Blo-24" (クライム・ブロ-24) by Minoru Abe.

Note the copper inlay for easy sliding, and the leather backing on the bottom of the tray for table friendly play.  All features are the highest quality among Minoru productions.  This particular puzzle has not come up for sale over the years; the 24 block is quite rare, about 8" x 10", and in as-new condition as shown coming from an old collection.  Original instructions included.

Objective:  The goal is to move the red piece (the largest red block at the bottom) from its starting position at the bottom to the top indentation on the board.  There are numerous starting positions to create different puzzles of varying difficulty.

Setup:  Begin by arranging the pieces according to the diagram labeled "Q" on the instruction sheet, then remove the uppermost "convex" piece as indicated.

Movement:  Pieces can only be slid horizontally or vertically into empty spaces; they cannot be rotated (e.g., horizontal pieces cannot be turned vertical).

Challenge: The instructions suggest aiming to complete the puzzle within 30 minutes to achieve "master" status, and also encourage creating your own puzzles.
