Description

This is an original wooden version of the puzzle made by George Miller for IPP20.
It is not the Bits and Pieces metal version.

Goal as written by George on the enclosed paper.
The Buffalo Nickel Puzzle is based on the Nine-and-a-half Moves puzzle by Oskar van Deventer. It is composed of just three pieces that fit together in such a way as to hide a secret compartment and find the Nickel. Although the three pieces are flat and lie in a single plane, it takes a remarkable 9 ½ moves to solve.

Laser cut wood by George Miller.
Size: Diameter 95mm
A full step by step colour printed solution is provided.

Condition: There is a small chip on the white rim of the back of the puzzle. See photo. And the paperwork with the puzzle is a little brown with age where the puzzle has been sitting on top of it in the box.   I completed the solve of the puzzle so know that it is working as expected according to the solution.

General Information:

This is Brian Young from Mr Puzzle in Australia selling some doubles as a result of merging Ray Mead’s collection into my own existing collection.  This puzzle has been in Ray’s collection since he exchanged with George in 2000.

If you buy more than one item I will be happy to combine ship and quote postage based on exact weight. Usually unless a very heavy puzzle is involved it won’t be much different to the single item below.

Free the Key maze invented by Oskar van Deventer
A maze puzzle invented by Oskar van Deventer.  The object of the puzzle is to insert the key in the keyhole and put it on all the way up to the handle of the key.  And then take it off again. This was an unauthorised version of the puzzle that we found being made in China in 2014 under the logo CodeWord.  We contacted Oskar and he agreed to allow us to sell that batch on our website at that time.  This is a puzzle left from that stock.
