XY is a very fun, intricate puzzle by Karakuri master Hideaki Kawashima.  This is the original 2013 version, not its later remakes.

Surface design and movement synchronize.
The technique of "tongue and groove joints" are used for surface parts.
Distortion and shrinkage have been reduced by this technique.
