Description

This is puzzle number 18 in a Limited Edition set of 45 made in 2013. It was reserved for a customer for a long (very very long) time then completely forgotten about.
The puzzle is signed and numbered on the inside face of one of the pieces. It has it’s original certificate and solution with it.

Information my our website when the puzzle was originally listed:   Designed by Junichi Yananose for the 2013 Puzzle Design Competition and made by Junichi and Brian @ Mr Puzzle. The burr is a 12 piece unique solution level 13-1-4-1-1-2. Junichi described it at the time as challenging but not too difficult; he considers it solvable without a computer.

Junichi took up the challenge that many designers may have already faced to make a puzzle where every “piece” of the burr is actually two pieces. So what looks on the outside like a standard six piece burr is very much more complicated. “Don’t judge a book by its cover” really does apply here!

You will notice some magnets are used in the puzzle. This is to enhance the feeling in your hands. Theoretically, they are not necessary for the puzzle to work.

Goal: Disassemble and reassemble the 12 piece burr.
Size:  90mm x 90mm x 90mm made from 30mm x 30mm stock
Materials: The puzzle is made from Western Australian Jarrah. Made from very dark red pieces.  Its enhanced with the routing on the ends of each piece you’ve come to know as the signature of Mr Puzzle wooden burrs.
Condition:  New. Never sold back in 2013. Its been wrapped away from the air all that time. I tried the first few moves and the puzzle is working very smoothly.

The USA government has mandated that the tariff be paid to them from Australia before we can send the parcel. The tariff percentage for puzzles made in Australia is currently set at 12.5% + Customs clearance fee.

Lattice 18 piece burr designed by Bill Cutler
This is one of Bill’s first difficult-to-take apart designs. Designed in 1975. Made by Jerry McFarland during the 1990s.Rather than the pieces being side by side in the puzzle Bill found that by separating the pieces slightly, he could create more notches without splitting the pieces in two, and this made for more flexibility and trickier moves.Material: Maple, Walnut and Cherry.  Size: 93 x 93 x 93mmCondition: I did the first few moves and the puzzle is working very smoothly.General Informa...
