Description

This is my favourite cube design by Stewart and I’ve crafted countless copies over the years, however this particular copy was made entirely from Maple.  I made this one in January and I was quite fond of the puzzling nature of it being made from one type of wood as it definitely makes it much more difficult to disassemble and of course incredibly difficult to reassemble!

I also made a two-piece stand using the same Maple harvested from an antique upright piano.

Comes with printed solution sheet that I’d signed and dated.

Shipping cost to be determined at close of auction.

I stumbled upon this neat puzzle design as I was using up some maple from an antique upright piano. There are 4 solutions to this puzzle and finding one is not very difficult, however trying to find all four is another story. This is a one off copy with Padauk slipfeathers.Comes with printed solutions sheet, signed and dated.Shipping cost to be determined at close of auction.

Gouge Packing Puzzle - Gaétan Gouge by John Devost
I previously made a few of this surprisingly difficult packing puzzle by Gaétan and at the time I didn’t have any contact info for him but then a few years ago I was surprised by one of his puzzle purchases in ‘Paradise’.My plan was to make another run but life kinda’ took a turn so now I’ve managed to sort myself out and began making another run.Allard kindly blogged about the copies I made in 2014, here’s an excerpt:https://allardspuzzlingtimes.blogspot.com/2014/04/gouge-packing-p...

I spotted this design on Ishino’s site early this year and decided to make a copy.  The designer is unknown and features one solution in the 4x4x4 box that I made for it.  It also features only one solution in a flat 8x8 configuration. Both solutions contain voids making this a very tricky solve and I also made extra cubes that can be used in the solve but not really sure if that helps or hinders your progress? (See last photo)Maple was used from an antique upright piano with Padauk Slipfea...

This classic design was one of my earliest puzzle builds in the early 2000’s that I made for Bill Cutler. It features 18 pieces with four solutions, however finding one will definitely keep you busy for some time!I’ve always wanted to revisit it but in a smaller scale, I used a 3/16” unit size with the overall size being approximately 6” x 4”.The woods used were salvaged from an old upright piano from the 1920’s that I layed out the keys in a wall hanging (see last photo). Slipfeath...
