Ghost Mail is officially finished — and this one carries a very special kind of magic. What began as a forgotten vintage toy truck has now been completely retrofitted into a working puzzle box, rebuilt piece by piece with hidden mechanics, secret movements, and a playful spirit. Every surface has been reimagined with intention: gears, paint, motion, and mystery all working together to guide (and misguide) the solver. This truck doesn’t just roll… it reveals.
There’s a deep nostalgia in creations like this — a reminder of a time when every toy was lovingly made by hand, shaped by someone’s patience rather than a production line. As a gentle nod toward the Ghost of Christmas Past, I like to imagine that if Santa has his sleigh and reindeer, perhaps the Ghost needs a ride too. This truck, with its warm colors and vintage personality, becomes his fictional companion — a small wooden time machine carrying echoes of childhood.
The truck is covered in tiny advertisement stickers pulled from three classic race-car model kits, the kind that once filled a young boy’s afternoons with imagination and glue-covered fingers. Today those kits are disappearing, and the culture around them is too. By covering the truck in decals, the design also makes a quiet commentary: even nostalgia, even childhood, even dreams have been monetized. These bright little logos are both playful and symbolic — a reminder of how commercialization finds its way into everything.
And beneath the truck hides a wind-up spring salvaged from an old clock, waiting patiently for its moment in the solution. The headlights have been painted in glow-in-the-dark paint, another nod to the “high-tech wonder” of childhood nights when glowing toys meant the play didn’t have to end. Ghost Mail is a tribute to handmade toys, to imagination, to Christmas magic, and to the joy of solving something crafted with heart, history, and just a touch of mischief.

I will be making more truck puzzles in the future, all with different themes and mechanics! The last picture shows the state I found this pre-made toy truck in. As I understand they are made in India/Indonesia. Enjoy!
