⟬ Smallbox Fortnight ⟭——19. Jean Claude Constantin - Schmuckdose Puzzle Box (2012)
'Schmuckdose' means 'jewelry box', which makes the name 'Schmuckdose Puzzle Box' a bit redundant.
cut into each half of the box on the inside is a 2-inch diameter, roughly half-inch deep felt-backed hole. honestly, this easily could have been designed with more space, because the mechanism is very compact and the rest of this box is solid wood.
but, if you want to actually use it as a jewelry box there's probably enough space for a palmful of rings, some tie-tacks and cufflinks, a coiled necklace, or one very ornate Elizabethan poison ring inset with the traditional concave-faceted mind-control sapphire of the sort that was notoriously used by Thomas Cromwell, should you happen to have one of those.
