Description

Identity Matrix (2012) - Pit Khiam Goh by Maurice Vigouroux

This very difficult puzzle is very nicely crafted by Maurice using Bubinga.

This is one of only 20 copies ever produced!

Here’s a Description from J. Baptiste at Arteludes:

“I was lucky enough to get in touch with Pit Khiam GOH, who is a collector and puzzle maker.

This is a puzzle that has the particularity of being made up of identical pieces. But Pit himself speaks better than I do:

"While discussing the computer-aided design of high-level 18-piece burrs with Jack Krijnen , I tried using hand-selected identical notchable pieces for a 24-piece burr, a similar configuration to Bill Cutler 's s / M_24 gold Bruce Love 's Lost Day designs except That Each room is 1 unit go short. It was a surprise to find That identiques notchable using 24 parts resulted in this burr qui: has a single level 13-8-3 -4-7-3-2-4-2-2-2-2-2-3 solution! There are 217 solutions to pack the pieces but only one of them can be disassembled!

This puzzle has all the nice features - identical notchable pieces and unique high-level solution. A prototype made out of plastic centimeter cubes show that there are several possible initial moves and disassembly is tricky. "

I probably must have been the first to put this puzzle together using the Burrtool solution. It wasn't all easy, I Didn't have enough hands to hold everything in place Disassembly is fun and more difficult than expected as there are plenty of movement possibilities right from the start.”
