Description

Rare MINT NIB 18" tall Five Story Pagoda crafted by Shigeo Yamanaka of Yamanaka Kumiki Works in solid cherry.

Collector quality, in original packaging with solution and information documents.

More information on this historical piece can be found in the article "Early Japanese Export Puzzles1860s to 1960s" by Jerry Slocum and Rik van Grol.

This is a new Cherry Wood Pagoda made by the infamous Shigeo Yamanaka a 4th generation Kumiki Master. Yamanaka Kumiki Works has made the finest production Kumiki's since the late 1800's and adds distinction to any collection. This company also makes some of the finest Puzzle Boxes many are the large 6 and 7 sun boxes with moves from 14 to 72 with beautiful yosegi designs many of which are made by Taadaki Yamanaka who is a 5th generation craftsman. This Pagoda is made from Cherry wood from Japan which is used for only the finest furniture and woodwork. The Pagoda is 18" tall and was hand signed on the bottom it is an heirloom piece that will darken as time goes on and will become a treasured piece in any collection, it also comes with a plaque that is in Kanji that tells about the craftsman and the Pagoda.
