Description

Tiger Triple Teaser Sliding Block Puzzle Set

Wayne Daniel crafted this beautiful sliding puzzle set in 1999 as an exchange puzzle for IPP19 in London.

From the original package: "The Tiger Triple Teaser consists of the three sizes of Tiger Puzzles designed by my friend Sherley E. Stotts (now deceased) of Denver, CO, USA. Although Mr. Stotts was blind from childhood, his considerable ability in abstract visualization allowed him to design very difficult puzzles - as illustrated by the Baby Tiger, Mama Tiger, and Papa Tiger sliding block puzzles.

The Tiger Triple Teaser includes a playing board, playing pieces, and a special set of barrier pieces used to define the play area for the selected puzzle. Tigers are represented by a square playing piece with a colored spot. Several of the other playing pieces have colored "fences" along all or part of one edge, color coded to match the related Tiger.

The object of each puzzle is to move the Tiger to the corner marked by the white spot in the frame, and to trap the Tiger in this comer with the fences on the pieces. The start position and desired end configuration are shown below for all three puzzles. Piece rotation is allowed."

Programmer's Nightmare (1B-9) (IPP10) by Bill Cutler / Jerry McFarland (1989)A must have for die hard McFarland and IPP puzzle collectors!  Beautifully crafted by Jerry in maple, a classic six piece design from Bill Cutler. Bill made these comments on the design:"In my booklet "Holey 6-Piece Burr!", I asked the readers if it was possible to create a 6-piece burr which required a 'fully legal' twist move. When the Computer's Choice 5-Hole design was discovered, I realized a way to make this hap...
