Stickman's first entry into the puzzle box world is a beautifully made oak box with not 1 but 3 separate puzzle compartments you must find on your journey. Interior spaces are lined in stunning green velvet to safekeep your personal treasures. This box was #14 of his original issue 20 years ago, and this original vintage piece has now been updated with signature, hallmark and Stickman coin to produce a true one-of-a-kind heirloom!

Robert Yarger relates:  "It was surreal to hold this Stickman No.1 puzzle box in my hands again after so many years.  I arrived back at my door for the purposes of a good once-over check up prior to this auction.  It has been exactly 20 years ago to the very day when I last held it in my hands.  I had no concept at that time where this little box would take me.  I did not realize this would be a career direction, or that my work would later be found in collections, galleries, and museums all over the world.    

This little box has also had quite the journey.  The first ten of these puzzles were given out as gifts to friends and family, so this box as limited edition # 14 of my first puzzle line was literally the very first of my work going out to explore the world.  It has since then likely changed hands many times, and visited multiple countries.  No doubt it has its stories to tell, yet I myself am ignorant of such exploits.  The purpose of any puzzle box is to guard its secrets well. 

For being a vintage 2-decades old puzzle, this box has been exceptionally well taken care of.  I expected it to show signs of wear or age, but it was in the same condition as it left my door so long ago.  It was sent to me to "spruce up", but it needed nothing.  I buffed it with a bit of wax, but it did not really need even that.  To it I also added my modern Stickman hallmark next to the original awkward Stickman logo I used long ago, and signed my name next to that.  In its 3rd hidden compartment, I also added my Stickman coin, a coin reserved for only the most special of projects, (such as the furniture pieces I do with Craig Thibodeau.)

It now embarks on a continuation of its journey in life, with a revised purpose of standing up against tyranny for this noble and righteous cause.  I could not be more proud of this little puzzle as it now sets sail for its new adventures and home."
