Doozy is a '9 moves to open' cigar retrofit puzzle box. This design is the 28th cigar box design of a target of 100 different designs to achieve in my life time. The other category I build into is what I call 'Vintage Boxes' a group that can be random in style, but just not a cigar box origin. With that group I am at #38/100 designs, so I have some work to do!
This is a one of a kind puzzle box, 1/1. Since they have changed the marketing rules for Cigar Companies here in Canada all new cigar boxes come in a plain brown covering, so this box has come from my 'rainy day' collection gathered long before the changes took place.
What I love about retrofitting cigar boxes is that I get a chance to try out ideas that have been itchin' at my brain for a while, and if it doesn't work out, no real huge loss of time and material.
The number 5 is plastered all of the box so I figured that the cigar box needed 5 dials, ...does it have any further relevance? ...only time will tell.
