Description
There are people in this puzzling community who work long and hard just for the pleasure of taking an enjoyable puzzle and sharing the joy of solving it with as many people as possible! ThinkingFin is one generous soul for taking the laborious task of assembling numerous tiny acrylic boxes and gluing up block after block so multiple people could try solving Boucher's ingenious Minima packing series!
For the 12 puzzles being auctioned here, there were 72 panels to put together and exactly 136 tiny cubes glued together. Each set of 12 is a representation of a lot of work to put together and averages out to $27.50 per puzzle if sold at the starting price of $330.
The packing problems were surprisingly distinct from each other and it didn't feel like any tricks were being reusing or repetitive. I had just as much fun with the final problem as I did with the first one. The difficulty gradually increases throughout the set, but it's not perfectly linear. Some puzzles are easier than the prior puzzle.
Fun fact, there are more Minimas being planned by Boucher, but not all of them may be made and sold at NothingYetDesigns. #13 involves angled cuts in the pieces, so it can't be made with cubes only. Also #14 is an SD puzzle which was made and sold by CubicDissection under the name Jammed Gem. There are even more in the series, but not much information is out yet.
