By this point in time, Dr Volker has a very well-earned reputation for diabolical packing puzzles that are certain to cause puzzlers to tear out their hair in frustration!
But Filling V feels like a return to simpler times where the pieces are all nearly identical in shape, they are all in cubic form instead of oddly angled triangles or unusual curves. No tricky subtle dimensions to keep pieces from fitting inside due to being a hair too large!
However, Filling V shouldn't be considered easy at all. It's just easier than his other puzzles. I ended up solving it reasonably quickly. The hardest part was for me to find the correct assembly and deducing it due to logical constraints on how the pieces can rotate inside the 3x3x3 box. Even when I found the final assembly, there was still a tricky move that needed to be made in the beginning with the first few pieces. I was impressed by how tricky this move was to figure out!
Anyways, I'm reselling this puzzle almost immediately after receiving it, because I solved the puzzle very quickly. I also have no interest in the looks or exotic woods used in Filling V to keep this as a display puzzle.
So I hope Filling V can find a more appreciative owner than I!
