Description

The Beehive is an older, classic, Bits & Pieces puzzle. It is usually described as being based on a Hoffmann puzzle (from Professor Hoffman's seminal work, Puzzles Old and New) of the same name (which doesn't exist!), but its trickery is actually based on two Hoffman puzzles, The Lighthouse and The New Brass Puzzle Match-box. The Beehive is 2 1/4 in (5.5 cm) tall and 1 15/16 in (4.8 cm) in diameter. The object of the puzzle is to open the beehive and release the "queen bee" from inside.

I received my copy of The Beehive puzzle directly from Bits & Pieces around twenty years ago, and alas, I have lost its box and original instruction sheet in the interim. I have tested the puzzle several times and it works as intended. The winning bidder may contact me for clues to the solution or the solution itself.

I will ship within the US at insured priority mail pricing (from between $9.25 and $13.45, depending on postal code), or via first class mail (USPS Ground Advantage) for around $8.00–9.00, if preferred. I am happy to ship internationally at cost (which I estimate to be around $29.00), but I cannot always guarantee that overseas packages can be insured or tracked. Tornado Burr by Juno

Tornado Burr was designed by Juno in 2007 and originally produced in a small batch by Mr. Puzzle (Brian Young) in 2008 and reproduced in a small batch by The late Eric Fuller in 2010.
