This auction is for a Nintendo Crossover Polarized Light Puzzle from 1981.
This puzzle was made in very small quantities, with a rather delicate mechanism. It is rare to find one complete and in good condition.
The object of the puzzle is to align the glass filters so that either all squares are dark (all light blocked), all squares are bright (no light blocked), or so the squares form a pattern, as a checkerboard.
Included is the original case and instruction sheet, and also part of the seal-band bearing the name of the puzzle, which originally held the two halves of the case together. Everything in in perfect condition, and movement of all sliders is very smooth (with a subtle and very satisfying 'click' when locking into position).
My wife, Erin, died on 13 September.
Previously I was selling some of my collection to help pay her medical bills, because we had run out of money.
I am continuing the auctions now to cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the cost of living on my own.
Please do not contact me with questions about other puzzles. I'm sorry, but I will not sell via PM. I need to do this in a simple, straightforward, and orderly fashion.
More details are here if you want.

I've been collecting puzzles for about 45 years. The collection is currently archived in plastic bins, out of sunlight, away from pets, in a humidity-stable room and in a non-smoking household.
Every item will be examined prior to listing, photographed from all sides (with a U.S. quarter for scale), and any flaws or damage will be noted. Additional photos will be uploaded on request, or emailed if the photo limit has been reached.
I will use USPS Priority Mail, insured for the full amount of the puzzle.
Buyer pays shipping, to be calculated after the sale. Please don't send payment until the total is updated with the shipping cost.
Payment is via PayPal only.
Thank you for looking, and good luck if you bid.
