Prolific Finnish puzzle designer Vesa Tomonen is known for his seemingly simple yet fiendishly difficult puzzles. IDENTTRICK is one such design used by sloyd.fi owner Tomas Lindén as his exchange puzzle at IPP34 held in London in 2014. The three wooden pieces are to be laid flat, in order to form two identical shapes, one light and one dark. Some SERIOUS out-of-the-box thinking and visualization are required to solve this puzzle!
The IPP version of IDENTTRICK is no longer available, but sold for around $25 retail. The non-IPP version is currently available at sloyd.fi for around $22.
Note that the longest puzzle piece has been repaired, as shown in the third (front) and fourth (back) photos. This does not affect the puzzle at all.
IDENTTRICK comes in its original plastic bag with its blue card insert and instruction label, as presented at IPP34. The width of each piece is 3 cm, and the longest piece is 15 cm long. I will include a copy of the solution from the IPP34 booklet for the successful bidder.
