Boxed In is a puzzle box handcrafted from visually striking exotic woods by Dee Dixon of DEDwood Crafts. It combines multiple puzzle genres including sequential discovery. Begin by manipulating four knobs to open the lid—then more puzzling awaits. The design features mechanics not seen in Dee’s previous works. Numerous steps are required to solve the puzzle with several “aha” moments along the way. The puzzle measures 6.5 x 5.5 x 3 inches, which makes it one of the biggest puzzle boxes that Dee Dixon made.
The retail version sold out at $465; this is a slightly discounted S&D (scratch & dent) version which also sold out. I purchased it for $430 (including 10.2% sales tax) as the first owner. The only cosmetic flaw is a minor dent at one inner corner shown in the 3rd photo, which I’ve lightly sanded and refinished with a food-grade wood finish.
The puzzle is located in the US. Shipping costs $10-12 within US. PayPal F&F is appreciated.
